Australia 108, the majestic skyscraper dominating Melbourne's skyline, became the epicentre of adrenaline and achievement on the 27th and 28th of April as Stair Challenge Australia and Giant Steps Melbourne, a specialist school for children and young adults with autism joined forces to host the electrifying Australia 108 Stair Climb. With 96 floors and 1700 stairs standing as the ultimate challenge, participants from diverse backgrounds converged to test their limits and support a worthy cause.

 International and Interstate Connections 

Gathering at Australia 108, towerrunners from various corners came together, showcasing their dedication to stair climbing. Towerrunning Mexico's President Roberto , along with Minerva and Jorge, made their debut in Australia, while Serene returned from Singapore, determined to defend her title.

The event wasn't just about international participants; enthusiasts from Western Australia, Sydney, and Queensland also joined, highlighting their commitment to the sport by travelling great distances.

Their presence exemplified the global reach of stair climbing, emphasising the shared passion and camaraderie that transcend borders. As they tackled the challenges of Australia 108, they strengthened bonds and inspired one another, embodying the spirit of unity in towerrunning.


Setting the Stage:

As the sun dipped below the horizon on the eve of the event, volunteers and organisers ascended to the 96th floor, transforming it into a hub of anticipation and excitement. Against the backdrop of Melbourne's glittering skyline, preparations reached a fever pitch, setting the stage for an extraordinary weekend of courage and camaraderie.

Elevating Expectations:

An exclusive meet and greet on the 71st floor elevated expectations as international climbers, organisers, and Giant Steps representatives united in anticipation. President Maria's impassioned welcome ignited a sense of unity and purpose that would resonate throughout the event.

As dawn illuminated the cityscape, participants flocked to Australia 108, their spirits undaunted by the overcast skies which later saw the sun beaming over the golden star surrounding Australia 108. With adrenaline coursing through their veins, participants prepared to conquer the towering challenge that lay ahead. The buzz of excitement was palpable, amplified by the presence of Channel 9's Today show capturing every exhilarating moment.
